Everything You Want to Know About DHT and Hair Loss buy zyvox online

Male hair loss is often caused by an aggressive hormone known as DHT This type of hair loss is hormonal and unfortunately not temporary For males this type of hair loss can be devastating, however there are treatments available DHT is an aggressive form of the male hormone testosterone. DHT performs many critical jobs in a males body. Despite the positive roles DHT performs, it can be problematic. For example, when the prostate gland malfunctions and forms too much DHT, the hormone can cause serious problems, such as aggression and hair loss. How does DHT actually cause hair loss. In excessive amounts, DHT has been known to attack (for unknown reasons) a mans hair follicles. This causes the hair follicle to shrink and weakens existing hair as a result. The hair will inevitably fall out and new hair will not grow in its place (because the attacked hair follicle is now too small). This can very quickly lead to large bald patches. Most medical problems that have been diagnosed as ‘hormonal problems have been easily treated by increasing the amount of a certain hormone in the body. However, many tests have been done with this type of cure for DHT related hair loss Unfortunately, all of these tests have failed While there isnt exactly a ‘cure, this doesnt mean that treatment is not available It most definitely is. In order to determine whether or not you would be a good candidate for hair replacement or restoration, consult with several different surgeons. Never choose a surgeon from the yellow pages or the internet. Always take a referral from a friend or colleague that has used similar (if not the same) services from whoever they are recommending. Many shampoos and solutions are available for DHT hair loss.

Bromelain Enzyme and the natural hair careBromelain is one of several compounds known as proteolytic enzymes, all of which aid in the digestion of protein Bromelain supplements are now included in some of the natural hair care products The plant enzyme bromelain has yet to get the hair care product recommendations But there is more to bromelain than hair care. The natural plant enzyme bromelain obtained from the pineapple is known to provide a number of health benefits as discussed below. Bromelain ResearchBy 1891, researchers identified the proteolytic enzyme bromelain, which they found in the fleshy part of the fruit. This enzyme was discovered to break down protein, and as such, is still used to day as a natural meat tenderizer and digestive aid. By 1957, bromelain was widely recognized and research also began into such areas as muscle and tissue inflammation, burn recovery, infection, and even sinus problems. The most recognized use for bromelain is as a digestive aid. This enzyme is commonly used in cases in which an individual’s own digestive enzymes are deficient, frequently resulting from pancreatic disorders. In such cases, bromelain supplements can relieve gastrointestinal symptoms including bloating, gas, pain and cramps from indigestion and diarrhea. Studies show that proteolytic enzymes like bromelain may also indirectly relive food allergies thought to occur from a condition called leaky gut, in which whole protein molecules from foods leak into the blood causing an allergic or immune response. Bromelain’s digestive properties are particularly enhanced when used along side other enzymes such as amylase that digests starch and lipase, necessary for fat digestion. Some laboratory studies suggest that bromelain may also be useful for reducing bad intestinal bacteria Bromelain is so effective at digesting protein that workers who frequently cut the fruit often lose their fingerprints to the active properties of the enzyme As well as this fruit’s amazing digestive qualities, it is also an excellent source of vitamins A and vitamin C, a benefit the Spaniards took advantage of on their many extended trips out to sea The fibrous nature of pineapple however, is also known to relieve constipation, as well ancient cultures frequently used pineapples to cure jaundice and kill intestinal parasites. Ripe pineapple juice is well known as a remedy to induce menstruation and relieve painful periods. Bromelain’s photolytic properties also make this enzyme a natural blood thinner. The digestive substance in the enzyme breaks down the blood clotting protein called fibrin, which inhibits circulation and prevents tissues from effectively draining. European studies have consistently shown that bromelain is also an excellent treatment for those recovering from sports injuries and in tissue repair necessary after surgery. Evidence suggests that some supplemental enzymes in particular can be absorbed directly into the circulatory system in their active form where they then exhibit anti-inflammatory and pain relieving actions. Bromelain has proven especially effective when applied directly to the skin to remove dead tissue resulting from severe burns that have reached all skin layers. These third-degree burns as they are known, are extremely susceptible to infection and swelling. The digestive properties of the bromelain cleanse the areas and remove the excess dead tissue and as well, its anti-inflammatory properties may help to reduce the pain caused by swelling. Countries such as Japan and Taiwan and in the state of Hawaii where pineapples are abundant, widely recognize bromelain as a remedy to cleanse wounds. Another interesting use for bromelain may be as a cough suppressant and nasal decongestantCommercial Bromelain: DosageCommercial bromelain products for treating number of human and animal disorders are now available in the market. Health professionals suggest that while choosing a commercial a bromelain product, choose the enzyme supplement that uses a variety of other enzymes. It is best to blend enzymes with activity units at various pH levels to assure maximum effectiveness.

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

Cancer isn’t for wimps We have to endure shots, blood tests, pills, nausea, body aches, and many more discomforts Along with the physical discomforts there are also emotional pains of facing cancer The most emotional aspect of my cancer journey was my hair loss. It was emotional not because of my outward appearance, but rather the hair loss was a very visual reminder of my sickness. My hair loss brought home the reality that I do indeed have cancer. In order to brace myself for my hair loss, I made sure that I had a wig ready for when I needed it. My fashion conscious daughters, Heidi age 16 and Steph age 13 helped me choose a wig that matched my hair color and style. They also had fun imagining their mom with long flowing locks of blond hair, or a curly, red, Shirley Temple style. We made jokes about hair to lighten the mood for that fateful day. Heidi said one evening “I heard that the longer that people are married, the more they start to look like each other” I’ve been married to my loving but bald husband for almost twenty years. Soon we looked like two bookends when we sat on the sofa together. The day I was dreading, despite the joking around, finally came. Just two weeks after my first chemo treatment, my hair fell out in clumps and my scalp hurt like a bad sunburn I decided to get a “G I Jean” buzz cut to relieve the pressure on my head and to eliminate the mess in the shower. I shed a few tears as I saw my dark brown hair falling to the floor. But I felt a sense of relief. I also felt a wave of reality sweep over me as I realized that I really do have cancer. In the early days of diagnosis, it took a while for the truth to set in. With the onset of hair loss, there was no denying it. When my daughters saw my new haircut they reacted in very different ways. Heidi, was very quick to share the scientific reasons why my hair was falling out. “The chemo kills off cells that reproduce like digestive cells, hair cells and thankfully cancer cells. ” Steph on the other hand, shed a few tears and wished I could just skip the hair loss part of chemo. She even snuck into my bathroom, and dug out some of my hair from the wastebasket, put it in a baggie and saved it so that she could always remember what my hair used to look like. Despite the emotions, the joking still goes on and I just join in the fun. After receiving the last cup of coffee in the pot I stated “This coffee is so strong it could grow hair on my chest. Oh, wait a minute.

Top 5 Black Hair Growth Myths

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

Why is it that black women have such a hard time growing lengthy locks Black women don’t have to struggle with growing our hair The following 5 myths have contributed to the lack of hair growth in black women 1. Black Women Can’t Grow Hair: This is just an out and out lie. Do other ethnic groups have a genetic monopoly on long hair. Is there something special, or flawed, about black hair that prevents it from growing. Is there some funky gene tied to melanin that prevents hair growth. No, no, and no. Black women can grow hair. Black women do grow hair. Don’t you have to go for a touch-up on your relaxer or color every 6 to 8 weeks. Then your hair is growing. The question is how to keep it on your head Black hair has special needs and can’t be treated like straight hair, which leads us straight to our other myth 2 Only ‘Mixed’ Women Can Grow Hair: Another long-standing lie. There is a reason that mixed women tend to have longer hair. Sometimes, not all of the times, ‘mixed’ women have a looser curl. The looser the curl the more that it retains moisture. The more moisture it retains the less breakage occurs. Also, every bend in a curl is an opportunity for breakage. Looser curls have less bends than tight curls. The hair stays on the head and length is achieved. Tight, kinky curls are very dry. They require extra care and attention to achieve long lengths, but with proper cultivation they can grow just as long as looser curls. 3. Greasing the Scalp: This comes from the dryness of kinky hair. In an effort to give moisture the scalp is often coated with Vaseline or mineral oil. While natural oils are an integral part of a black hair growth regimen, petroleum jelly and mineral oil are not. These products coat the scalp and suffocate the hair follicle. Hair growth slows down and sometimes stops completely. 4. Dirty Hair Grows: This is another myth that arose out of the dryness of kinky hair. In an attempt to prevent the dryness we feel after shampooing, many of us stop washing our hair for 2 to 3 weeks at a time. Again, the scalp must be clear of debris for hair follicles to thrive and produce hair. Dirty hair is just that, dirty. And it doesn’t grow any faster.

Monday, November 26th, 2007

A very low level laser therapy system has been used all over the world, for a variety of ailments, with no reported toxic effects or any other visible side effects Recently laser treatment is being employed as a source of treatment for preventing hair loss in some advanced countries of North America and Europe Hair loss treatment by using laser emitting hand held devises are known to provide some accurate cure for ordinary hair loss problems Being well known for its efficiency and ease of use, this devise is also called “laser Comb” in its commercial avatar. These hair loss laser treatment devises are hand held and prescribed for use many times in a month to attain positive benefits of preventing hair loss and infusing hair growth. Though the cost at the moment is quite high, it may become cheaper as more people start using this devise. This devise is recommended for usage at least 4 times a week and with a sustained bombarding with light. Whatever may be the advantages of this devises are, one thing is absolutely certain: at the moment it is very costly and people will not able to experience the positive aspects of this devise in the near future. It may take a while for the prices to come down, so that many people can start using them to cure their hair loss.

Cause of Hair Loss - Which One Do You Suffer From?

Sunday, November 25th, 2007

Genetic and hormones are the main culprits of hair loss One leading form of hereditary hair loss in men and women is Androgenetic Alopecia (otherwise known as pattern baldness), which is responsible for 95% of hair loss Androgenetic Alopecia is characterized by receding hairline and thinning from the crown of the head in the shape of a horseshoe With Androgenetic Alopecia hair loss is caused by an increase in testosterone, which leads to too much dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a derivative of testosterone. DHT can cause the blood supply that feeds the hair to become damaged, and it can eventually thin the hair follicle, causing hair to grow out thinner and shorter, until the follicle withers away. Furthermore, the body’s immune system senses the follicle is dying, and as part of its defense system tries further to shut it down and get rid of it. Other lesser causes include immune system disorder which leads to Alopecia Areata. This condition causes patches of hair loss on the head and sometimes over the body. Another condition is a stress or trauma-induced hair loss called Telogen Effluvium where hair growth slows, or hair thins or sheds over a period of time. Fortunately this shedding is natural, such as after childbirth, and is temporary and reversible. Other temporary hair loss causes include lack of nutrition to the hair, lack of circulation to the hair root, scalp infection, or medical treatments/ conditions. Furthermore, product buildup on the hair root, and deep dirt on the hair root, when mixed with sebum, oxidizes into a thick hardened substance on the scalp, which then clogs the entrance of the hair follicle and blocks nutrient absorption by the follicle. The new strand of hair has to fight through the clogged follicle, resulting in a thinner hair strand and smaller bulb at the root of the strand each time the old one falls out. The end result is a hair follicle so damaged from bacteria, sebum and DHT production that the follicle dies Women’s hair loss tends to be caused by product and dirt buildup on the root, lack of circulation and nutrition, irregular hormone levels and stress

Going Bald? Read this to Understand Your Options

Sunday, November 25th, 2007

Some men and women start going bald at a very young age but don’t even notice at first Because we lose between 100-150 hairs a day, you won’t even take note when you lose a few extra Unfortunately, over time, it will become apparent that your hair is thinning and possibly could lead to baldness In most cases, going bald is hereditary. In this case, hair loss will be permanent. There are instances where baldness is caused by a medical condition that has not been diagnosed. In these cases, there is a chance that hair thinning or baldness is not permanent. Male pattern baldness, or androgenetic alopecia, is where the hairline starts receding and eventually leads to no hair on the top of the head, only a fringe around the sides, is hereditary. Sorry, there is likely no chance hair will grow back naturally on its own. Areata alopecia, an autoimmune disease, can also cause hair loss and balding from the scalp and the entire body. In some cases, this hair loss can be temporary. It a lot of cases, this disease can be triggered by a virus or some other reaction your body had. There are other reasons why both men and women loss their hair. Stress is a big contributor in thinning hair Stress has been known to cause chunks of hair to fall out all at once This is a serious situation and you need to consult your doctor immediately If you are low on certain vitamins and minerals, this can cause hair loss as well. This situation is easily treatable but it must be diagnosed properly first. Men and women both experience pattern baldness. In women however, it is most often serious thinning of the hair versus complete hair loss like in men. If this is happening to you, you do have some options. You can choose a hair piece or extensions where natural or synthetic hair is woven in with your own to create a full looking head of hair. This is often referred to as non-surgical hair replacement techniques.

Onward And Upward,
Marylin
